The significance of Energy Auditing and Certification.

In the coming years, the energy certificate will become increasingly important as an "information package" when discussing or comparing the energy efficiency of a building, especially when buying or selling a property, building, or share.
According to the proposal of the European Parliament, residential buildings should achieve a minimum energy efficiency class E by 2030 and energy efficiency class D by 2033.
A properly made energy certificate serves as a valuable tool for sellers, buyers, real estate agents, as well as property owners and residents.

The energy certificate indicates the energy class of the building from A to G. The energy classification is determined based on the E-value of the building, which comprises the calculated annual purchased energy consumption of the building, weighted by coefficients for different energy sources per square meter. The E-value includes, for example, heating, cooling, ventilation, hot water heating, lighting, and the energy requirements of consumer appliances.

The energy class can be improved by reducing the energy consumption of the house, for example by improving the insulation of the house, by additionally insulating the attic. The significance of building technology on a construction’s energy efficiency cannot be overstated. The utilization of solar electricity and solar thermal energy also enhances the energy efficiency and classification of a house.

Examples of CO2.fi Ltd.'s projects

The ARA has granted energy grants to the mentioned targets.
